About Me

You can call me Marie; I like coffee and thunderstorms, I don’t eat meat, and my heart beats out of rhythm.

These are the rules of Speak A Better Word

Rule #1: I write solely because I have too many words taking up all the space in my head; I mean no offense to anyone by what I may write and post on this blog.

Rule #2: If you like something you see here, share it with others! All I ask is that you give credit where it’s due and refer them to this blog while you’re at it. I’m not above a bit of shameless publicizing now and again.

Rule #3: Coffee is good. Late nights are good. Any combination of the two usually ends in a grand Apocalypse of the Writer and I create pieces which have been known to cause nightmares. I’m very very sorry, I’ll try to keep it to a minimum.

Rule #4: Literary appreciation is a two-way street! If you’ve written or found something you think I would like, by all means, show me! Contact information is available!

Rule #5: Life is more light than it is darkness. At least, that’s the way I see it, and I really hope it shows in my writing.

Rule #6: Don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t write, or how to write, or not to write. If you love it, do it.

Rule #7: By reading all of these rules you have entered into a completely legal contract that provides me with ownership of your mortal soul and your first-born child. We also get to split a lifetime supply of creampuffs. Any attempt to protest this forceful agreement will result in you being locked in a small, dark, windowless room filled only with the sound of polka music.

Rule #8: Just kidding. Creampuff?
